Piece Math Toolkit

Free pricing calculators for makers

The math behind every piece.

Piece Math works out what one piece really costs you, then what to charge for it on Etsy, on your own site, at a craft fair and wholesale. Free, no sign-up, every formula shown. The first tools are for laser engraving and cutting.

How Piece Math does the math

The same rules run through every calculator, and each tool page shows its formulas and a worked example you can check by hand.

Your time is a cost, not the profit
Labor goes into the unit cost at your hourly rate. Profit is what's left after you've been paid.
Attended run time is labor
A laser must never run unattended, so the minutes it runs count as your minutes by default.
Each channel gets its own price
Fees differ, so prices do too: the same keychain is $8.99 on Etsy and $7.99 on your own site at the same margin.
Round up, never down
Retail prices round up to the next .99 and wholesale to the next cent, so rounding never eats your margin.
Dated, editable figures
Platform fees were last checked on 2026-10-27, and every one is an input you can change. Results are estimates, not tax or legal advice.
